Dang Gui Yin Zi – Capsules (100 Count)
Tangkuei Decoction
Brand: Evergreen HerbsWhat Is It?
Dang Gui Yin Zi is a classic Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula traditionally used to nourish Blood, support healthy circulation, dispel wind, and relieve dryness affecting the skin.
In TCM, the skin depends on adequate Blood and Yin for nourishment and moisture. When Blood becomes deficient, the skin may become dry, rough, sensitive, or itchy. This deficiency can also allow what TCM describes as "wind" to affect the surface of the body, contributing to itching that may move or fluctuate.
Dang Gui Yin Zi addresses the underlying deficiency while also supporting comfortable, healthy skin.
Common Uses
From a Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective, Dang Gui Yin Zi may be used to support:
Dry or itchy skin
Skin discomfort associated with dryness
Rough or flaky skin
Recurring itching without significant dampness
Skin sensitivity associated with Blood deficiency
Dry skin that becomes more noticeable with age
Healthy skin nourishment and circulation
TCM patterns involving Blood deficiency with dryness and wind
These traditional uses are based on TCM theory and are not intended to diagnose or treat eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, allergies, or other medical conditions.

How It Works
Traditional Perspective
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, Blood nourishes and moistens the skin. When Blood is deficient, the skin may not receive adequate nourishment, contributing to dryness, roughness, or itching.
Blood deficiency may also allow wind to develop or affect the body's surface. TCM wind-related symptoms are often characterized by itching or discomfort that changes location or intensity.
Dang Gui Yin Zi traditionally works by:
Nourishing Blood
Supporting healthy Blood circulation
Moistening and nourishing dry skin
Dispelling wind from the skin and exterior
Calming itching associated with a deficiency pattern
Supporting healthier skin from within
Unlike formulas primarily intended to clear excess heat or drain dampness, Dang Gui Yin Zi is more appropriate when the underlying presentation involves deficiency and dryness.
Who It May Be Best For
This formula may be appropriate for individuals who:
Experience dry, itchy, or flaky skin
Have itching that occurs without significant oozing or weeping
Notice their skin becomes increasingly dry with age or during dry weather
Experience recurrent itching associated with an underlying deficiency pattern
Have pale, dry, or poorly nourished skin from a TCM perspective
Present with a practitioner-identified pattern of Blood deficiency with wind and dryness
Not all itching or skin irritation represents Blood deficiency. A TCM evaluation is recommended to determine whether this formula matches your individual presentation.
Contraindications & Precautions
May not be appropriate for acute, red, hot, swollen, weeping, or infected skin conditions, particularly when the primary TCM pattern is damp-heat or excess heat.
New, severe, widespread, or persistent itching should be medically evaluated, particularly when there is no obvious skin-related cause.
Seek medical attention for skin symptoms accompanied by difficulty breathing, facial or throat swelling, fever, rapidly spreading redness, significant pain, blistering, or signs of infection.
Consult a qualified healthcare professional before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
He Shou Wu (Polygonum multiflorum) has been associated with rare but potentially serious liver injury. Individuals with liver disease or abnormal liver function should discuss its use with their healthcare provider.
Stop use and seek medical evaluation if symptoms suggestive of liver problems develop, such as yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, unusual fatigue, persistent nausea, or upper abdominal discomfort.
Because the formula contains Blood-nourishing and Blood-moving herbs, use caution with anticoagulant or antiplatelet medications.
Licorice-containing formulas may require additional caution for individuals with high blood pressure, kidney or heart conditions, or low potassium, particularly with prolonged use.
Always inform your healthcare practitioner about medications, supplements, and other herbal products you are taking.
Quality & Safety
Manufactured by Evergreen Herbs in GMP-certified facilities. Ingredients are tested for identity, purity, and safety to ensure high quality standards.
