DOSAGE

CAUTIONS & CONTRAINDICATIONS

  • Imperial Tonic is safe for long-term use. However, because it is a warm formula, it should be reduced in dosage or discontinued if it causes side effects characterized by heat, such as dry mouth, thirst, and nosebleeds.

  • Since this formula may stimulate the immune system, it should be used with extreme caution in patients who have autoimmune disease or take immunosuppressant drugs after organ transplant.

  • This formula is contraindicated in cases of infection, inflammation, and other excess conditions.

  • This herbal formula contains herbs that invigorate blood circulation. Therefore, patients who are on anticoagulant or antiplatelet therapies, such as Coumadin (warfarin), should use this formula with caution, or not at all, as there may be a higher risk of bleeding and bruising.
